The main inspiration was my nine-year-old niece, who absolutely loves capybaras and knows almost everything about them. Her fascination with these extraordinary animals sparked the idea for the book. I wanted to create a story that would combine adventure, humor, and a touch of magic with an important message about nature conservation. My goal was to write a story that would not only entertain readers but also spark their imagination and encourage them to think more deeply about the world around them.
16. Why did you choose capybaras as the main characters of your book instead of all the other animals?
There is something truly special about capybaras. They are calm, friendly, and capable of living peacefully alongside other animals. These qualities make them perfect characters for a story about friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect. Of course, my niece’s fascination with capybaras also played a major role in my decision. I felt that these lovable animals could naturally introduce readers to the beauty of wildlife and the importance of protecting it.
17. Where did your interest in the Amazon rainforest come from?
To me, the Amazon rainforest symbolizes the wild, untamed nature that is becoming increasingly rare on our planet. It is an extraordinary world full of life, mystery, and biodiversity, yet it is also seriously threatened by human activity. I wanted to show that even though we may live thousands of miles away from the Amazon rainforest, its future affects all of us. Forests are part of an interconnected ecosystem, and protecting them is essential for the entire planet. After all, similar environmental challenges also affect our forests and wilderness areas here in Poland.
18. Did you always intend to combine adventure with an important environmental message?
My primary goal was to create an exciting and engaging adventure story. At the same time, I wanted the book to offer something more than entertainment. That’s why I naturally combined elements of fantasy, humor, and adventure with themes of environmental protection. I didn’t want to write an environmental science textbook. Instead, I wanted to tell a story that would help readers discover for themselves how important nature is and how much our everyday choices can influence the world around us.
19. When writing "Capybaras: Guardians of the Jungle," did you also have adult readers in mind?
Yes, because I believe a good story can appeal to readers of all ages. “Capybaras: Guardians of the Jungle” is primarily aimed at older children who can already read independently, but adults can also find something meaningful in the story. Beneath the adventure, humor, and fantasy lie universal themes of friendship, responsibility, and humanity’s relationship with nature. I hope the book will entertain younger readers while also encouraging older audiences to reflect on these important issues.

I definitely see educational potential in this book. The capybaras’ story can serve as an excellent starting point for discussions about environmental protection, tropical rainforests, endangered species, and humanity’s responsibility toward nature. At the same time, it explores important values such as friendship, courage, and cooperation. I believe teachers could use it not only in language arts and literature classes but also in science and environmental education. What matters most to me is that children learn through an engaging story rather than simply memorizing facts.
21. Would you like "Capybaras: Guardians of the Jungle" to inspire children not only to read but also to take action to protect nature?
Absolutely. I believe that even the smallest actions can make a difference. You don’t have to save the entire Amazon rainforest to do something positive for the environment. You can start by planting trees, caring for plants, creating small gardens, or simply paying more attention to the natural world around you. It’s important to help children develop an appreciation for nature and a sense of responsibility from an early age. If even a few young readers become interested in protecting animals and the environment after reading my book, I will consider that a tremendous success.

The world of “Capybaras: Guardians of the Jungle” offers many opportunities for further storytelling. Its characters, the rich natural environment of the Amazon rainforest, and the combination of adventure with an environmental message provide plenty of inspiration for future stories. However, I wouldn’t want to reveal any specific plans or details about a potential sequel just yet. For now, my main priority is to introduce the first book to as many readers as possible and inspire them to discover the extraordinary world of capybaras.
Nitrox 21: New Era
1. What inspired you to write "Nitrox 21: New Era"?
The inspiration came from reflecting on how deeply our modern world depends on natural resources that we often take for granted. I was particularly interested in the subject of clean air, something we cannot survive without for more than a few minutes. I decided to imagine a reality in which breathing is no longer something natural and freely available, but instead becomes a privilege reserved for a select few. That’s how the idea for a dystopian story combining science fiction, advanced technology, and important social issues was born.
2. Was the idea for "Nitrox 21" born out of concerns about the future of our planet?
Concerns about the future of the natural environment certainly played an important role in shaping this story. We are witnessing increasing air pollution, climate change, and the ongoing degradation of nature. I wanted to show what could happen if we continued to ignore these problems. “Nitrox 21” is a work of fiction, but the threats at the heart of its plot are rooted in reality. It is an attempt to draw attention to problems that we still have the opportunity to address.
3. Do you think the world depicted in "Nitrox 21" could one day become a reality?
I sincerely hope it never does. However, history has shown that some scenarios once considered science fiction eventually become reality. In “Nitrox 21,” I portrayed a world where clean air has become a commodity, and controlling access to oxygen means having power over people’s lives. Of course, this is an extreme vision of the future, but it encourages us to reflect on where we are heading as a society and what consequences our actions might have.
4. In your opinion, how close are we to a future where clean air becomes a valuable resource?
In a way, clean air is already an incredibly valuable resource. In many parts of the world, air pollution poses a serious threat to human health and life. We are increasingly relying on air purifiers, protective masks, and filtration systems. Of course, that doesn’t mean we will soon be buying oxygen on the streets, as the characters in my book do. However, I wanted to explore what the world might look like if we allowed access to clean air to become a luxury.
5. Could a device similar to Nitrox 21 ever be developed in real life?
I believe technological progress is constantly expanding what we are capable of achieving. Today, we already have advanced air filtration systems, pollution removal technologies, and devices capable of producing or concentrating oxygen. Nitrox 21 is, of course, a fictional invention that combines different technological concepts and goes far beyond what is currently possible. However, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that future devices could purify air on a much larger scale and with significantly greater efficiency. That’s the beauty of science fiction – it allows us to imagine technologies that might one day become reality.
6. When writing this story, was your main goal to warn readers or to present a possible scenario for the future?
I think it was a combination of both. On one hand, I wanted to create an engaging science fiction story filled with suspense, danger, and the struggle for survival. On the other hand, I wanted to highlight the potentially devastating consequences of environmental degradation and the exploitation of basic human needs as a means of exercising power. However, I didn’t want to leave readers with an entirely pessimistic vision of the future. Hope is also an important element of the book, represented by people who are willing to stand up against an unjust system.
7. If Nitrox 21 technology existed in real life, do you think it could change the world?
Absolutely. If we could develop a device capable of effectively removing harmful substances from enormous volumes of air, it could significantly improve the quality of life for millions of people. However, technology alone cannot solve every problem. Equally important is who controls it, who has access to it, and how it is used. This particular issue plays a significant role in my book. Even the most revolutionary invention can become either a tool for saving lives or a means of controlling people.
8. Are you planning a sequel to "Nitrox 21: New Era"?
From the very beginning, “Nitrox 21” was conceived as an extensive science fiction series rather than a standalone book. The story has already expanded into several installments, which are available on Amazon. In each volume, I continue developing the characters’ journeys, uncover new mysteries of the dystopian world, and explore the ongoing struggle for freedom and access to clean air. This universe offers countless opportunities for further storytelling, so I certainly wouldn’t rule out additional installments. I would love for readers to immerse themselves even more deeply in this world and reflect on the future we are creating together.
